North Eastern Counties Dobermann Club Open Show, 28th November 2021

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge this show, it was an honour and I enjoyed my day. Thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs to be judged by myself and for the sporting way you accepted my decisions.  Quality overall was good, I have not commented on individual dogs’ dentition as overall quality was good with only observation that the older exhibits showed some wear and tear which you would expect.

Minor Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. McLaren & Kershaw’s Aritaur Invincible El Teuschon; 6 month B/R young lad with much promise; wedge shaped head which is clean and has dark almond shaped eyes and well placed ears; long neck; short firm topline; good front and rear angulation – rear needs to strengthen but that will come with maturity; tightest of feet; moved steady. BPD

Puppy Dog (2,2)

1. Watt’s Wot-A-Thriller Rainbow Warrior; 11 1/2 month B/R male with lots of bone and substance, strong masculine head with the darkest of eyes – I would have preferred more length of muzzle; angles balanced front and rear; firm topline which he held on the move – movement was ok but would benefit from the dog being allowed to move more freely.
2. Elston’s Thunderstrike; 10 month B/R male; very good head with dark almond shaped eyes; topline slightly roached; front angles slightly open however has good rear angulation; moved out well.

Junior Dog (3,3)

1. Edyveane’s Jojavik Snowpiercer; 15 month B/R elegant male with rich rust markings; refined head with dark eye and well placed ears; good front; long crested neck; short firm slightly sloping topline; good angulation front and rear; tight feet; moved steady
2. Santoriello’s Rafthouse Amulet’s Child; 16 month B/R male; masculine head with dark almond shaped eye and good expression; firm level topline; front and rear angles balanced; moved steady
3. Verrall’s Grafmax Oberon at Camperdown

Yearling Dog (1,1)

1.Jones’ and Ushakova’s CH Korifey Vanquish JW; 18 month standard sized B/R male shown in good condition; good head with dark almond shaped eyes; well placed ears and strong underjaw; good front; tight feet; balanced angles front and rear; moved out well with reach and drive.

Novice Dog (3,3)

1. Woodhouse’s Jojavik Master Cutler; 16 month B/R male who caught my eye as he creates a lovely profile; clean head with parallel planes; dark almond eyes which are also well set, nicely placed ears; good reach of neck which flows into slightly sloping topline; good croup; good front and rear angles; has tendency to pace which his handler is aware of and corrects which then allows him to move out well.

Post Graduate Dog (1,1)

1. Verrall’s Grafmax Oberon at Camperdown; 15 month strong B/R male; strong head with almond shaped eyes which are well set, would prefer more length of depth and muzzle; clean neck and short strong topline; angles balanced front and rear; has tendency to play up his handler when moving but when settles does move truly

Limit Dog (4,2)

1. Grace & Lawson’s Nerak Wot a Dream; Br/R 4 1/2 year old male who has good bone and substance; strong head with dark brown eye, would prefer neater ears; excellent front; balanced front and rear angles; tight feet; powerful hind quarters which helped him move well
2. Cairns’ Avector Teraline Du Russia at Lamarg; three year old B/R male who has good bone and substance; strong head; angles balanced front and rear; powerful rear end; feet could be tighter; moved ok

Open Dog (3, 3)

1. Edyveane’s CH Victor Rizzi at Kateamead; 4 year old Br/R male who combines substance with elegance and was presented in good condition; head is masculine but not overdone – wedge shaped with level head planes, muzzle has both good length and depth, dark correct shaped and well set eyes, ears well placed; long clean neck which flows into correct shoulders; excellent front; front and rear angulation are correct and topline strong; moved steady with excellent reach and drive; BD and BIS
2. Robinson’s Korifey Ivan; 2 1/2 year old B/R male who presents a very clean outline; refined wedged shaped head, eyes are almond shaped and very dark; long clean neck, strong topline which was held on the move; good tailset and croup; presented in immaculate condition; moved well. RBD
3. Morgan’s Rhuvaal at Telenndhu ShCM

Veteran Bitch (2,1)

1.Mycroft’s CH Supeta’s Spells Trouble JW ShCM; B/R bitch who will be nine years old in a couple of months; full of personality and was clearly enjoying her day out; beautiful wedge shaped head with the darkest almond shaped eyes and well set ears; good front with excellent front and rear angles; short slightly sloping topline; moved ok

Minor Puppy Bitch (3,3)

1. Luther’s Supeta’s Echoes of Love for Langlore; 8 month old Br/R bitch who presents a lovely clean profile; beautiful wedge shaped head with dark well set eyes; well placed ears; long arched neck which flows into slightly sloping topline; correct front and rear angulation; moved ok in class but was slightly lame in the rear in challenge
2. Mycroft’s Supeta’s Pocket of love for Sharhyste: 6 1/2 month old B/R bitch who has good bone and substance; good head with the darkest of eyes and lovely expression; short firm topline and good tailset and croup; tight feet; moved well
3. Morgan’s Satinea Fevronia at Telenndu

Puppy Bitch (1,1)

1. McLaren’s Teuschons Temptress: 11 month Br/R bitch; balanced girl with feminine wedge shaped head and dark eyes and beautiful expression; good front; clean neck which flows into short strong topline, good tailset and croup, tightest of feet; moved well; BPB & BPIS

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1.Merret’s Grafmax Titania; 15 month old B/R bitch ; wedge shaped head with dark eye –  would prefer more length of muzzle; angles balanced front and rear; presented in good condition; moved steady

Yearling Bitch (3,2)

1.McCall & Murray’s Diego’s Debbie Harry; 21 month old B/R bitch who has substance but retains her elegance; lovely wedge shaped head with dark almond eyes which are well set; angulation both front and rear is correct; strong slightly sloping topline and correct tailset; moved well with reach and drive.

2. Robson’s Jane Creme De La Creme at Scorpio Angel; Br/R 23 month old bitch; this girl has a lovely head whch is the correct shape and length, dark eye; long clean neck and firm topline; angles balanced front and rear; tailset could be better; tight feet; moved ok but overall she did not seem to be at ease.

Graduate Bitch (2,2)

1. Merret’s Grafmax Titania
2. Cairns’ Lamarg The Russian Princes; 2 year old B/R bitch; refined feminine head with dark almond shaped eyes; good length of neck; topline could be stronger; balanced angles front and rear; feet could be tighter; moved well

Post Graduate Bitch (2,2)

1. Bradbury & Sanderson’s Jodaseen Bootylicious; 2 year old B/R bitch shown in hard condition; head is wedge shaped with dark well set eyes; clean neck; balanced angles front and rear; short strong topline; moved well; made her handler work very hard
2. Freer and McCall’s Diego’s Doris Day; 21 month old B/R bitch; nice head with dark well set eyes; ears are well placed but would prefer them to be smaller; balanced front and rear angles; strong sloping topline; left front foot could be tighter; moved well

Limit Bitch (3,3)

1. Bishop’s Korifey Oskana; 2 1/2 year old B/R bitch who presents beautiful sharp and defined outline; feminine head which is wedge shaped with dark eyes and neat ears; good front; elegant clean neck and short strong topline which she held on the move; balanced front and rear angles; moved out well; presented in immaculate condition. BB
2. Brannan & Mycroft’s Supeta’s Whole Lotta Rosie with Sharhyste JW; Br/R 3, year old bitch; good head with correct planes, dark almond shaped eye, ears are well set but would prefer them to be tidier; good front; long, clean neck, short level topline, well muscled rear; moved with reach and drive

Open bitch (3,2)

1. Murray & McCall’s Manrio Galataya; 2 year old Br/R bitch with a stunning head which is clean, wedge shaped head has level planes and excellent length to muzzle; eyes are correct shape and dark; good front; angles balanced; short topline and well muscled rear; moved well. RBB
2. Sanderson’s Jodaseen Cardinal Envy; 3, year old B/R bitch; another good refined head, good length of muzzle, eyes correct shape and colour; front and rear angles balanced; sloping topline, tailset good; tight feet; moved well.
